Cold storage temperature monitoring:
Why a single point of temperature measurement is not enough
One probe shows -18°C, which does not mean that the entire library is -18°C. The position, quantity and alarm threshold of the measuring point determine whether the monitoring system is really insured or set up.
Uneven temperature inside the warehouse
The cold storage area near the evaporator is cooler and the area near the door and corner fluctuates more. Opening the door, stacking the goods, and short-circuiting the airflow will all cause local temperature deviations. Looking at only one measurement point, it is precisely the most dangerous corner that is most likely to be missed.
Principle of measuring point arrangement
- The most unfavorable position must have a measuring point: the farthest from the evaporator, near the warehouse door, the highest shelf
- Large warehouse partition set points, determine the quantity by area and cargo space distribution
- The measuring point avoids the direct blowing position of the air outlet, otherwise the reading is low and distorted.
How to determine the alarm threshold
The alarm temperature value can be set as required. The setting is too tight, and frequent false positives lead to paralysis; the setting is too loose, and the warning meaning is lost. The common practice is to leave a reasonable margin above the storage required temperature, and to distinguish between the high-frequency fluctuations during the door opening operation period. Sensor failure should be treated as over-temperature - the state of the refrigeration system when the probe fails must be known.
Remote monitoring to resolve "no one watching" issues
Most of the warehouses are not in a manned location. The value of remote temperature monitoring and over-temperature alarms is that they push information to people when abnormalities occur, rather than waiting for people to remember to look at it.
